Ram wants everyone with a love for pickups to tune in on YouTube at 12:01 a.m. EST for some truck news. More specifically, the Stellantis-owned marque is revealing the 2025 Ram 1500 pickup truck lineup on November 7.
Before going into greater detail, it should be mentioned that Ram has quietly previewed a range-extended pickup truck. Previously referred to as REPB (make that Range Electric Paradigm Breaker), the Ram 1500 Ramcharger features a yet-unconfirmed internal combustion engine that acts as a generator to recharge the high-voltage battery pack.

You can bet your bottom dollar it's not a HEMI naturally-aspirated V8, but a turbocharged engine with a smaller displacement. Even the 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six lump of the Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer seems a tad large for this application, which is why a safer bet would be the 2.0-liter turbo I4 of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe.

Pictured alongside the Ram 1500 REV fully electric pickup, the Ram 1500 Ramcharger is noticeably different in exterior styling. Closer to the internal combustion-engined lineup than the STLA Frame-based electric truck, the Ramcharger features a charging port on the driver-side front fender. A fuel door on the left bedside is also noticeable, along with an illuminated RAM logo up front, LED strips that connect said logo to the headlights, redesigned taillights, and a 4x4 badge on the tailgate.

Gifted with quite a small bed, the Ram 1500 Ramcharger sweetens the deal with a power sliding rear window, a shark fin-style antenna, swanky wheels, two black-painted tow hooks up front, and satin-finished black exterior accents. A good-looking truck in every respect, and chances are that many of the Ramcharger's exterior design cues will trickle down to the combustion-only Ram 1500 line for 2025.

Speaking of which, the DT-series Ram 1500 is widely believed to drop the 5.7-liter HEMI and the 6.2-liter Hellcat for the 2025 model year. In their place, there's growing evidence that FCA US LLC will debut a truck-specific version of the Hurricane twin-turbo sixer mentioned a few paragraphs earlier. Camouflaged prototypes of the 2025 Ram 1500 TRX have been caught on camera making inline-six noises, and the 2025 Ram 1500 Tungsten has also been confirmed to feature the Hurricane's high-output version.

Hurricane HO means 510 horsepower and 500 pound-feet (678 Nm) of torque, which is better than the 6.4-liter HEMI of the Ram 1500-based Jeep Grand Wagoneer by 39 horsepower and 45 pound-feet (61 Nm). Not exactly as exciting as the bellowing Hellcat of the Ram 1500 TRX, but still good enough to fend off the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 from the Ford Motor Company. The biggest automaker of the Big Three in Detroit doesn't have a turbocharged sixer to compete against said engines. On the other hand, the Silverado 1500 does feature a 2.7-liter turbo I4 with 310 ponies and 430 pound-feet (583 Nm) of twist.

Based on the video teaser below, the 2025 Ram 1500 will get a Ram 1500 REV-like dashboard, complete with a portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system. A front passenger display is almost certain as well, although only for the fancier trim levels. When it comes to shifting, the most capable transmission of the bunch is the 8HP75 from ZF, an eight-speed auto paired with the Hurricane HO.

The 75 stands for approximately 750 Nm (550 pound-feet) of torque, meaning that you can't combine this gearbox with the 6.2-liter Hellcat. By comparison, the 2024 model year TRX uses the heavier-duty 8HP95 version that's good for up to 1,000 Nm (738 pound-feet) of input torque.
