Whenever the Chevy Chevelle comes to mind for one reason or another, it involves an old copy that caught our eye. Usually, it is a nicely preserved one, with matching numbers and the original firepower under the hood, yet we’ve also covered some tuned examples.
Barn finds are still a thing, and while we don't understand how certain people forget about their rides, which sit in old buildings for decades covered by a thick layer of dust, it is one reality of this model (and not only). Just like the restomods and the occasional car that hits the drag strip willing to put its money where its mouth is courtesy of the insane amount of power available via the right pedal.

Three generations of the Chevrolet Chevelle saw the light of day. The first one came out in 1963, and four years later, the bowtie brand replaced it. This happened again in 1972, and the last one rolled off the line in 1977, leaving enthusiasts craving for more. Nonetheless, despite all the talk about a possible revival of the nameplate, it is clear that it won't happen, not as we expect it to, anyway.

If anything, General Motors might eventually decide to bring back the Chevelle moniker from the dead, yet it shouldn't be for a direct successor to the classic ones. Instead, they might use it on an electric crossover. After all, this is where the money is these days, and all companies want to cash in big on the high-riding revolution, including Chevrolet, hence why we think this scenario could be viable.

But if it's not returning from the dead, then what is up with the model whose images lie in the photo gallery above? Signed by TheAutoReport on YouTube, it calls Fantasy Land home. It was sketched out by using some iconic lines from Chevy's past muscle cars, bringing a sexy styling to the CGI world. It features a two-door styling with a fixed roof over the passenger compartment, has front and rear ends to die for, broad shoulders, a pair of racing stripes, and massive wheels wrapped in sticky tires.

We'd certainly throw a party if Chevrolet decided to use this design on its future muscle car, especially since the sixth-generation Camaro is going away after the 2024 model year. Such a ride would have the ability to put the latest Ford Mustang in its place, especially if it gets at least one V8 option, and would also take a swing at Dodge's upcoming Charger, which is expected to be due at the end of 2024, gracing the muscle car segment as a 2025 model.

We'd do everything we can to place a deposit for it, and we're confident a good chunk of the petrolhead crowd would do the same, too. But would you find yourself on the reservations list?
