The Cadillac Optiq is finally here! General Motors has been teasing it for months, showing much of it, but not quite everything. However, what we have known for quite a while has been confirmed. It is… orange.
We have been looking at the photos of the exterior painted in orange for ages, trying to figure out what the cabin hides. Two weeks before debut, images of the dashboard leaked, and we got to see how much the Optiq is the little brother of the Lyriq.

Now, General Motors has finally unveiled the model as the result of a joint venture with SAIC, officially launching it in China. Sitting on GM's Ultium architecture and sharing most of its components with the Chevrolet Blazer EV, the all-new Optiq will be available in two variants, Standard and Long Range, with their names indicating how far they will go on a single charge.

The base version, Standard, is the equivalent of the Luxury equipment level, with the Long Range displaying looks typical of the range-topping Sport trim.

The Standard will be powered by an electric motor mounted on the front axle, capable of generating 241 horsepower (245 horsepower) and 243 pound-feet (330 Newton meters) of torque for a run from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 97 kph) in 7 seconds.

The range-topping version can drive as far as 373 miles (600 kilometers) thanks before it needs to be plugged in again. The Long Range is equipped with the larger battery, sporting a capacity of 79.7 kWh.

There is the eye-catching 33-inch curved display on board, identical to the one present in the Lyriq the company of a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated seats in leather, and a 126-color ambient lighting system. A wireless smartphone charger and a digital rearview mirror are also on board.
