Automobili Lamborghini has identified an issue affecting 22 units of the 2024 model year Huracan. More specifically, the subject vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 due to high beams that do not activate when the function is engaged by the driver.
The Raging Bull of Sant'Agata Bolognese became aware of the recall condition last month by means of a quality control report alleging the missing functionality. The subsequent investigation determined that affected vehicles had undergone a rework at the plant. Countermeasures were introduced pretty much immediately after that, but alas, certain vehicles had already been shipped.

As per the Product Safety Committee, suspect vehicles were produced between December 20, 2023 and January 2, 2024. The VIN range starts with ZHWUA6ZX5RLA25760 (an STO Coupe) and ends with ZHWUB6ZF4RLA26404 (a Tecnica Coupe). Lambo's North American division isn't aware of any complaints related to this topic.

Rather than replacing the headlight switch or headlights, Lamborghini dealers are required to perform a basic settings configuration to resolve any errors in the control unit in charge of the headlights. Lamborghini will inform dealers about said problem on or about April 19, whereas owner notifications will be mailed no later than May 3.

At press time, the commercially successful Huracan comes in four specifications: the aforementioned STO and Tecnica, plus the limited-run Sterrato and the rag-top EVO Spyder. The reason why Lamborghini offers four versions of the Huracan for model year 2024 is rather simple, that reason being the highly anticipated LB63x. Its actual name is not known for the time being.

The Huracan's replacement is due to hit showrooms for model year 2025 with a twin-turbo V8 plug-in hybrid powertrain that should belt out in excess of 800 horsepower. The yardstick in this particular segment is the Ferrari 296 series, which develops 819 horsepower. The McLaren Artura deserves to be mentioned as well, with McLaren bumping up the combined output rating to 690 mechanical horsepower for 2025.

Closely related to the Revuelto in terms of underpinnings, the LB63x doesn't offer the aural pleasure of the Huracan due to its force-fed V8. The Audi-developed 5.2L FSI will be discontinued with the Huracan, with Audi planning a zero-emission supercar as the indirect successor to the R8.

Lamborghini has an EV in the offing as well. Previewed by the Lanzador concept, Lamborghini's first electric vehicle will enter series production in 2028 on the Volkswagen Group's Scalable Systems Platform. The second-generation Urus will follow suit in 2029 with electric oomph as well.

Until then, Lamborghini will update the Urus for 2025 to 700-plus horsepower from a twin-turbo V8 plug-in hybrid setup. Think 2024 Porsche Cayenne Turbo E Hybrid, but with an Italian twist. Given this information, 2024 marks the bitter end of purely internal combustion-powered raging bulls.
