These days, everyone across the automotive market is talking not just about the hype surrounding crossovers, SUVs, and trucks but also about how the novel EV lifestyle impacts our everyday thoughts and feelings.
Some are discussing job number one of production for Tesla's Cybertruck, others are talking about the EV price wars initiated by the American company, and a few are even contemplating a potential slowdown in popularity for the sector as US inventory of zero emissions piles up. Well, Caddy does not have anything to do with any of this stuff.

Instead, they are aggressively fighting Tesla with their 'cheaper' Lyriq crossover SUV – albeit they are doing it in China rather than at home in the United States. Speaking of the latter, the deal is set to bring yet another battery-powered behemoth to the market for General Motors instead.

As if there was not enough heft behind the GMC Hummer EV series, on August 9, they will also present the "manufactured in Detroit" Cadillac Escalade IQ in New York City. This will be the company's first-ever all-electric Escalade, which was teased for the first time in May. It will most likely be closely related to the 2024 model year refresh of the Cadillac series, and early spy shots of first prototypes showed it to be slightly less bulky compared to ICE-powered Escalade SUVs.

Under the hood, the suspects are simple to identify – most likely, General Motors will donate the Ultium Drive tech and Ultium battery packs complete with eAWD, two or even three-motor configurations, rear-wheel steering, and a nice balance of power versus range – the rumor mill touts a flagship configuration of 650 hp or a long-haul-focused version with up to 450 miles (724 km) on a single charge.

That is all fine and dandy, but how about the impatient folks who cannot wait a second longer, and the August 9 reveal seems like years away? Well, then, all we can do is defer them to the imaginative realm of digital car content creators, especially since these pixel masters have taken a special liking for Cadillac's next great installment of the novel EV era.

For example, the good folks over at the AutoYa info channel on YouTube have covered the subject quite extensively. But they also have a satellite venue dubbed AutoYa Interior, and that's where all the novel (CGI) Caddy Escalade IQ action occurs. As such, this time around, the focus is on the cockpit, where the rumor mill suspicions point toward a modern luxury approach in line with what we have seen inside the flagship Celestiq sedan.

Naturally, the Escalade IQ won't cost as much, so maybe some corners will be cut – but given the massive space and colorful presence, people probably won't mind them. In the end, remember this is all wishful thinking, so always take these unofficial renderings with a healthy dose of salt!
