Remember when Aston Martin said last year, during the V12 Vantage's unveiling, that it would be the last one to feature a twelve-banger? It is not, and we're not talking about the Roadster variant that was introduced after it, as they just put the final touches on yet another one, which will feature a good old stick shift.
Our spy photographers managed to scoop a tester in the open recently, and they got close enough to snap a few pictures of the cockpit. The center console was hidden under wraps, hosting what appeared to be a traditional gear shifter linked to a manual transmission. And that's exactly what it was hiding, as shortly after, the British automaker stepped forward to announce the car's unveiling for today, July 11, 2023, releasing at the same time two pics of the fancy gear shifter and the three pedals.

You see, the current V12 Vantage Coupe, which features an eight-speed automatic gearbox made by ZF, needs three and a half seconds to deal with the 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) sprint. However, with the three-pedal option, it is likely that the acceleration time will be one or two-tenths slower. Chances are we are looking at the same V12 engine, which has a 5.2-liter displacement and is aided by a pair of turbos. The mill develops 690 hp (700 ps/515 kW) at 6,500 rpm and 555 lb-ft (753 Nm) of torque at 5,000 rpm, allowing the car to keep pushing up to a top speed of 200 mph (322 kph).

As for the exterior design, it appears that Aston Martin decided to keep it the same, for the most part, anyway. The face is identical to that of the current car, sporting the same imposing grille with horizontal slats, headlamp signature, and fat apron attached to the bumper. Even the wheels are the same, and they spin around the red brake calipers on the spied prototype. Out back, it still has the large wing attached to the trunk lid. The LED taillights are the same, and the bumper and diffuser combo does not seem to have been replaced. One thing that's new is the added tailpipe, as instead of dual exhaust tips, this one had three of them.

We think the final production model might get tweaked front and rear bumpers, diffuser, and probably new wheels, alongside a few enhancements that were perhaps made to the interior. Fortunately, we won't have to wait that long to find out what Aston Martin has in store for the 2024 V12 Vantage manual, as the car is a few hours away from celebrating its online unveiling. We won't act surprised to learn that the entire production lot was sold out, as it is expected to be capped at only a few hundred copies.
