The fresh Honda e:Ny1 (aka the European twin of the Chinese-made e:NS1) is the Japanese automaker's second-only battery-powered model after the tiny Honda e and its first fully electric SUV.
Sure, it's not the only fully electric SUV on offer. Remember how North America should get the Honda Prologue that is based on the Ultium architecture and BEV3 platform, similar to its GM siblings Chevy Blazer EV and Cadillac Lyriq? Well, this one – which is pronounced as 'Honda anyone' for one reason or the other, is slotting in between the Honda e and the Honda Prologue in terms of dimensions.

Unfortunately for fans of the tiny Honda e, it seems the introduction of the hard-to-write e:Ny1 will spell the demise of the pocket-sized EV hatchback. Anyway, it's a logical addition to the European roster as it joins the hybridized CR-V and ZR-V models, and in the United Kingdom, it will soon become available alongside the hybrid Jazz, hybrid HR-V, hybrid CR-V, hybrid Civic, and the mighty Civic Type R.

Over there, you can still nab a Honda e from £37,395, but it remains to be seen if the little EV hatchback will remain on offer when the Japanese automaker updates the online portal with all the credentials for the new e:Ny1. Until then, the company has announced the pricing and ordering details of the fresh subcompact electric crossover SUV.

The order books will open in late October this year, and the base pricing kicks off at no less than £44,995 OTR, including a nice pack of '5 Years Complimentary Servicing, 5 Year Guarantee and 5 Years UK + European Roadside Assistance.' Still, you'll have to shell out the equivalent of $57,900, so it's a steep asking price if you want our two cents on the matter.

Honda probably hopes to counter that with the company's "latest battery technology and all-new BEV platform (to) ensure exceptional dynamics and a highly competitive range for a B-segment BEV SUV." The all-new front-wheel-drive e:N Architecture F platform, by the way, is rated for a 256-mile (412 km) WLTP range.

As far as trims are concerned, only two grades are available. The base Elegance features perks like a 15.1-inch central touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay, the free-for-one-year Digital Key and Safety and Journey packages, plus dual-zone air conditioning, a wireless charging pad, and multiple USB ports, among other features.

Moving on, the Advance version starts at £47,195 OTR (around $60,733). It brings black or light grey synthetic leather trim, a panoramic sunroof, a heated leather steering wheel, and a premium audio system. Other perks include the hands-free, powered tailgate or the Honda Parking Pilot system, plus the full suite of Honda Sensing active safety technology that is also standard on the Elegance trim.
