Bentley has expanded its luxury SUV portfolio with the introduction of the new Bentayga Hybrid in Europe and the United Kingdom. Already available in the United States and China, the electrified luxury SUV is the company’s third derivative after the V8 and Speed variants.
Pricing varies from country to country, but the company’s British arm has announced that it costs the same as the V8-powered version. They have also disclosed the official electric range, rated at 40 km (25 miles) on the WLTP cycle. When the combustion unit kicks in, it can travel for 693 km (430 miles) combined.

Representing Bentley’s ambitions to have an electrified version of every vehicle over the next three years, prior to launching their first battery-electric car in 2025, the Bentayga Hybrid uses a 3.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged V6 petrol engine and an electric motor. The combined output of 449 PS (443 HP / 330 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque enables a sprint from nought to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 5.5 seconds (0-60 mph / 0-97 kph in 5.2 sec), and a 254 kph (158 mph) top speed.

As anyone would expect from a vehicle in this class, it features a lot amenities. Things such as the air suspension with continuous damping control, permanent all-wheel drive with Torsen limited-slip differential, speed-sensitive electric power steering, stolen vehicle finder, lock my car, perimeter alert, curfew alert and others are standard. Customers won’t have to pay extra for the traffic sign recognition, local hazard information, blind spot assist, and roadside assistance call either.

It comes with 21-inch wheels, matrix LED headlights, panoramic roof, hands-free tailgate, electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, Alcantara and leather upholstery, 10.9-inch infotainment system, DAB radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, sat-nav, weather and news updates, and Wi-Fi hotspot.

Those looking to spend more money on the 2021 Bentayga Hybrid have a generous list of options to choose from, from the bigger wheels and illuminated treadplates, to the extra upholstery options, head-up display, mood lighting, and biometric secure stowage compartment.
