If you thought you couldn't get more exclusive than a brand new Bentley Flying Spur, think again. Even this ultra-luxurious car has something to be envious about: the 2020 Bentley Flying Spur First Edition.
The official market launch of the new British grand tourer is scheduled for this fall, and for the first year of production this special variant of the car with exclusive features and a price tag to match will be offered as the crown jewel of the lineup.
As usual when a carmaker releases a first edition for some model, most of the features that usually come optionally are fitted as standard. And yes, a lot of unique badges are spread all over the car as a testament to its place in the world.
For the Flying Spur, the carmaker will offer these adornments on the exterior in several places, and on the headrests of the seats. There is also a Union Jack flag with the numeral 1 in the center fitted on the model.
All the high tech gadgetry devised for the new Flying Spur will make its way into the first edition, including the illuminating Flying B mascot and the Rotating Display. This latter gizmo is a feature that allows the veneer section in the middle of the dashboard to rotate and reveal a touchscreen once the start button for the engine is pushed.
Other than that, the car will retain the already announced performance specs. At the heart of it lies the 6.0-liter engine in W12 configuration, paired to an 8-speed ZF dual-clutch transmission. With an output of 635 ps and 900 Nm of torque, the car can accelerate to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds and tops at 207 mph (333 km/h).
The 2020 Bentley Flying Spur First Edition will make its first public appearance next week, on July 24, at the Elton John AIDS Foundation Gala. The first example will be auctioned in support of the singer's organization.
Pricing for the rest of the Flying Spur lineup was not announced.
