Compared to the previous model year, the 2019 Ford F-150 Limited is nine percent more expensive for the rear-wheel-drive configuration. The 4x4 levels up to $72,055, which is top dollar for a full-size pickup truck, regardless of how much equipment comes as standard.
Cars Direct reports that Ford didn’t even announce once-optional equipment as standard for 2019, which is certain to make some people scratch their heads with wonder. On the other hand, the F-150 Limited now features the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 from the F-150 Raptor, translating to 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet (637 Nm).

The 10-speed automatic transmission soldiers on, and so does the 10-speaker B&O Play audio system. Quad-beam LED headlights, the 36-gallon fuel tank, twin-panel moonroof, 22-inch polished aluminum wheels, power running boards, and hand-finished wood trim are also included. The list continues with heated and ventilated seats, inflatable safety belts in the back, voice-activated satellite navigation, and pre-collision assist with autonomous emergency braking.

In order to make driving and parking easier, the Technology Package adds lane-keeping assist and a surround-view camera system. Customers who are much obliged to spend $995 on the Trailer Tow Package are treated to the Pro Trailer Backup Assist system, which steers the truck along a course the driver selects by using a controller knob.

How does the F-150 Limited stack up against the competition? The 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali with the Ultimate Package and 420-horsepower V8 is $67,640, which is more than $4,400 cheaper than the Ford. The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country and Ram 1500 Limited with the best options on offer are $64,105 and $64,130, respectively. Given these circumstances, is Ford in the right to charge so much money?

If you compare the range-topping pickup truck to an optionless Audi A8, BMW 7 Series, or Mercedes-Benz S-Class, it does make sense to go Ford. As Cars Direct puts it, the F-150 remains a compelling choice for work, daily driving, and leisure.
