Aston Martin is currently in the midst of a reinvention process that's set to turn the automaker into a fully profitable brand (the Brits returned to the black earlier this year) with an even more generous fan base than before. And we can expect the upcoming 2019 V8 Vantage to be the main pillar of the company's sportscar strategy.
Sure, the Valkyrie halo car is enticing enough to disturb our sleep forever, while the all-new DB11 has demonstrated that Aston's new-age Grand Tourer ways are nothing short of splendid. But its the DB8 Vantage, with its more affordable nature and its daily driver attitude, that will lead the automaker's go-fast machine sales.

And while the DB11 debuted with the all-new 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 and only later received an also-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 coming from Mercedes-AMG, things will be the other way around in the case of the V8 Vantage.

When under the hood of Affalterbach models, the V8 delivers between 467 and 612 horses, with the motor expected to deliver at least 450 hp for the newcomer - for the record, the DB11 V8 allows its driver to play with 510 hp.

You can expect brilliant news from the transmission department. For starters, the V8 Vantage will be offered with a ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic, but you can bet on the carmaker also offering a six-speed stick shift as an option.

Given the relatively compact size of the Grand Tourer, you can expect plenty of agility, with the British engineers currently tweaking the handling details of the machine on the Nurburgring. Keep in mind that the outgoing model has been with us since 2005, so the newcomer will show a world of a difference from behind the wheel.

And, thanks to an Instagrammer who enjoys birdwatching activities at the infamous German circuit, we can now deliver a fresh set of spyshots. Even when covered by heavy camouflage, the 2019 Aston Martin Vantage manages to be a sight for sore eyes.
