There's something about manhandling one's machine into a storm that makes such adventures extremely fiting for famous stories, with Dune and Mad Max Furry Road being brilliant examples of this. But waht about pulling such a stunt on the Nurburgring?
You see, when the Green Hell turns into the Grey Hell, most drivers shy away from the track, since the place is dangerous enough in the dry. However, the pair of BMW driver in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page are not like most drivers.

These guys know the Nordschleife like the back of their driving gloves and enjoy playing on the infamous German track when the rain shows up. Did we say "rain?" That doesn't cover the kind of weather the two recently encountered, with nature ensuring the track was soaking wet.

To be more precise, we're looking at a BMW Z3 Coupe that gets to chase an M3 belonging to the E46 generation. The Z3 is a 28i model, but the thing has received a few mods, so it can keep up with the M car, at least in this weather.

This Touristenfahrten (Tourist Days) run can serve as a Ring driving lesson. For instance, you should notice how patient the driver of the Z3 (this is used as the camera car) is when getting back on the power.

If the setup seems a bit familiar, it's probabluy because this driver has delivered plenty or Nurburgring adventures, both inside this Z3 and a Z4 M Coupe.

And the aficionado took the time to describe the uber-wet circuit experience for us: "A nightmare for most and a real joy for some. My buddy with his M3 and me enjoying a rain soaked very slippery but therefore almost empty Nürburgring. TopTip: Whatever you do ... don't crash!
Rent a low powered FWD car if you have no Nordschleife and/or rain experience (Ford Fiesta, Suzuki Swift, e.d),"
