With deliveries slated to begin early next year, BMW prepared in this regard by publishing the prices for the G30 5 Series. Whereas the least expensive UK-spec model will set you back £36,025, the G30 5er starts from €45,200 in its domestic market.
The pricing mentioned above applies for the 520d. To put that starting price into greater perspective, the F10 5er LCI in 520d form started from €42,400 when it went on sale in May 2013. The truth of the matter is that the G30 5 Series brings forth more goodies than its venerable predecessor had to offer.
If you want the ZF 8-speed automatic instead of the 6-speed manual in your 520d, that’ll be €47,450, thank you! €50,000 adds xDrive all-wheel-drive to the 520d’s menu. Further up, the 2017 BMW 530d and 530d xDrive are priced from €54,300 and €56,900, respectively. If, however, fuel economy is on your mind, the most economical diesel-powered 5er (520d Efficient Dynamics Edition) available in Germany costs €47,750 included the value added tax.
For those who would rather high-octane jungle juice, the Euro-spec 2017 BMW 5 Series is available in five flavors at launch. Past the 530i (€49,800) and 530i with xDrive (€52,400), the list continues with the 540i (€57,700) and the 540i xDrive (€60,300), plus the F10 M5-rivaling M550i xDrive (€82,700).
As ever, the exterior appearance is dependent on the line the customer opts for. Be it the regular treatment, Sport Line, Luxury Line or M Sportpaket, there is a G30 5er for everyone in the market for a luxurious mid-size sedan.
For the all-out F90 M5, the go-faster model is expected to be added to the lineup by early 2018. If, however, you want your G30 5 Series to be as eco-friendly as possible, chances are you will want to wait for the 530e iPerformance plug-in hybrid to go on sale sometime early next year.
