With BMW having introduced the G30 5 Series, aficionados from around the world are now curious to see the previously-spied F90 M5 getting into production shape. Well, the Internet seems happy to deliver, as these leaked images demonstrate.
The pair of pics come from The Cammed & Tubed Podcast, with the source explaining: "A source inside BMW has leaked to me CAD files of the new G30 BMW M5, specifically the front and rear bumpers."

Sure, these images look like the real deal, but we can't jump to conclusions without adding the mandatory grain of salt that must accompany any leaked material.

That being said, it seems like the M5 has returned to its roots, at least visually speaking. To be more precise, the front and rear aprons shown here are closer to the understated image that has defined the M5 since its 1985 birth, steering clear of the overly aggressive aero profile displayed by recent M Division models such as the M4, for example.

Even so, the door mirrors seen here are too conservative and it doesn't appear like we're dealing with the actual M mirrors, but rather with the units of the standard 5 Series.

The M5's pedigree has always mixed uber performance with tastefully restrained looks and the upcoming F90 won't be any different. We'll remind you that the already-revealed M550i xDrive is already quicker to 62 mph (100 km/h) than the retiring F10 M5, being able to complete the sprint in 4 seconds flat.

Yes, it's all-wheel-drive plays an important role here, but the new M5 will also get all-paw traction. We've already shown you just how quick the all-wheel-drive F90 M5 can be during Nurburgring testing.

The G30 5 Series' range-topper is expected to land late next year as a 2018 model, so we'll get plenty of opportunities to discuss its details by then. Meanwhile, we've also added a rendering of the next M5, which you can find in the gallery to your right.
