2015 Suzuki Vitara Hailed as the Cleanest Non-Hybrid 4x4 in the UK

Dear Suzuki, how shallow is to announce that your newest offering in a long time is the “cleanest non-hybrid 4x4 on the [UK] market?” I’m having a hard time imagining that man or woman that would buy a Vitara because it’s eco-friendly, not because it’s a fairly pretty and capable crossover SUV.

Nevertheless, the Japanese brand’s British communication office informs that the 2015 Suzuki Vitara in 1.6-liter DDiS SZ5 AllGrip is the cleanest non-hybrid 4x4 pounds sterling can buy thanks to its 111 g of CO2 per km, with a combined economy of 67.2 mpg (55.9 US mpg or 4.2 liters of diesel fuel for 100 km).

In terms of pricing, the lowest a British buyer can go for a 2015 Suzuki Vitara is £13,999 if you can live with the entry-level 1.6 SZ4, a model that gets amenities such as 7 airbags, 16-inch alloys, DAB radio, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, Cruise control, a speed limiter, automatic air conditioning, front and rear electric windows and projector headlamps. Yup, it's basic.
Move on to the £15,499 1.6 SZ-T and you get 17-inch silver alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, as well as a Smartphone link audio and navigation system on top of what the SZ4 offers. Then again, not enough kit.
Though more expensive, you can’t get around the fact that the SZ5 is the Suzuki Vitara you actually fancy.

Priced at £17,999 for the 1.6 petrol 2WD and £19,799 for the 1.6 petrol with the AllGrip all-wheel drive system, the SZ5 boasts with LED projector headlights, 17-inch polished alloys, suede seat fabric, keyless entry with start button, adaptive cruise control, Radar Brake Support and a refreshing panoramic sunroof.

In terms of turbo diesel power, customers are offered with three choices: the 1.6 DDiS SZ-T (£16,999), 1.6 DDiS SZ5 (£19,499) and 1.6 DDiS SZ5 AllGrip (£21,299). On sale in the UK from April, the fourth-gen Suzuki Vitara can be enhanced with a number of tidbits: the £500 Urban Pack (for SZ-T & SZ5), a £500 Rugged Pack (for SZ-T & SZ5), £430 metallic paint or £800 for the dual-tone paint (for SZ-T & SZ5 models).
