With less than a month until the production car is unveiled at the upcoming North American International Auto Show, different versions of the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe (C217) are still hard at work testing, but their camouflage has started to come off.
Bellow you can take a look at a pre-production model caught along its four-door brother, the S-Class W222, giving us an idea of how the overall size and proportions differ between the two.
It seems that the model will also get the highly-successful “star grille” treatment first seen on the A-Class (W176) and the CLA (C117), while the rear trunk hood line seems to be slightly different than the one seen on the Concept S-Class Coupe two months ago because of aerodynamic reasons.
As we were telling you in other related reports, we are expecting the S-Class Coupe to have a slightly lower weight than the sedan, helping it achieve up to 0.1 seconds better accelerations with the same engine.
Speaking of powertrains, the CL-replacement will be the first large coupe in Mercedes-Benz history to benefit from a hybrid version, with the other engine variants to exclusively consist of twin-turbocharged V6, V8 and V12s.
