2015 Ford Mustang - Euro-spec Model Loses Some Power Over its American Brother

After a year of slow teasing we found out almost every secret the sixth-generation of the breed holds. However, European customers of the new pony will be in for a little shock because the Euro-spec model isn't quite as powerful as the Mustang sold in the US.

For starters, the entry-level 3.7-liter V6 variant won't even set foot on European soil because someone at Ford decided there's no market for that kind of motor around there. That leaves the 2.3-liter EcoBoost as the entry-level Euro-spec 2015 Mustang, while the 5L V8 is the only other powertrain option.

Ok, so the European Mustang lost its V6, but did you know that both the four-cylinder EcoBoost turbo mill and the thumpin' great naturally-aspirated V8 both lose a few ponies on their way to the U.K., Germany and other big markets for the 2015 Ford Mustang?

While the American EcoBoost boasts with 310 ponies running 93-octane gasoline, the European 'Stang is one horsepower down at 309 of them American ponies. Fortunately, the 434 Nm of torque (320 lb-ft) have been left untouched. As for the V8-powered GT variant, this one suffered a big horsepower and torque loss, boasting with just 413 horsepower and 524 Nm (386 lb-ft) of twist.

In comparison, the US-spec 2015 Ford Mustang GT is rated 435 horsepower and 542 Nm (400 lb-ft). For a more detailed look at the Euro-spec 2015 Ford Mustang, feel free to browse the attached document.
