Rumors that Chrysler has created a commercial for the 2015 200 sedan featuring Bob Dylan for the Super Bowl XLVIII were confirmed during the Big Game, when the “America’s Import” spot was aired.
Besides revealing the new tagline for the redesigned 200 sedan, the two-minute video, which runs Bob Dylan’s “Things Have Changed” song in the background, talks about “America’s can-do spirit” and the role the automobile has played in the country’s history.
The ad gets a bit cheesy towards the end, when Dylan says we should “let Germany brew your beer, let Switzerland make your watch, let Asia assemble your phone” and leave car manufacturing to Chrysler. Really?
Well, at least the ad includes authentic American imagery and well-known personalities such as James Dean, Marilyn Monroe and Julius Erving. We'll just have to see about the car...
