After General Motors LLC registered the Midnight Edition moniker with the US Patent and Trademark Office, the American automaker announced that its 2015 Chevrolet Silverado will be the one to use that mark. To put it simply, Midnight Edition is the fancy way of saying monochrome appearance package.
Chevrolet announced that it will offer the Silverado Midnight special edition in either 1500 double-cab or crew-cab models, while up to 5,000 units of the package will be produced for the 2015 model year. Dealer will be taking orders for the trucks starting in February 2015, with prices ranging between $1,595 and $1,995 depending on the truck’s specifications.
Slated to make its flesh & blood debut on February 14th at the Chicago Auto Show, the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Midnight Edition is underpinned by a Z71 specification model. In addition to the off-road pack that adds off-road suspension, locking rear diff, Hill Descent Control and a trailering package, Midnight special editions also include rear park assist and heated, power-adjusted outside rearview mirrors.
The menacing visual theme is continued by 18-inch black-painted alloys that wear Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac all-terrain tires, an assortment of special Z71 badges on the doors, spray-in bedliner and the finishing touches – black golden bowties.
