Chevrolet has taken the wraps off the 2015 City Express van ahead of the vehicle’s debut at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show later this week.
Scheduled to go on sale in the United States and Canada this fall, the 2015 City Express, which is a rebadged Nissan NV200, will be powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four engine under borrowed from its Japanese counterpart. The unit comes with a CVT and delivers 131 horsepower and 139 pound-feet of torque.
The van offers 122.7 cubic feet of cargo room and an estimated payload capacity of 1,500 pounds. Features include fold-down passenger seat, side sliding doors, 20 cargo-mounting points throughout the interior, standard vinyl flooring, standard power windows and many more.
The 2015 City Express will be offered in LS and LT trims, with latter being fitted with standard remote keyless entry, cruise control and backup sensors. Additionally, a Technology Package available on the LT version will add a 5.8-inch touch screen, navigation, Sirius/XM Satellite Radio, Bluetooth connectivity, USV and rearview camera.
“As the newest member of the Chevrolet Express family of vans, the 2015 City Express offers a smaller, more efficient choice for businesses that don’t need the cargo volume or other capabilities of a full-size van,” said Ed Peper, US vice president of GM Fleet and Commercial. “It is an easy-to-maneuver van that makes the most of its compact dimensions with clever features, allowing business owners to maximize its space – and their resources – with a vehicle sized for their needs.”
Pricing for the 2015 Chevrolet City Express will be announced later this year. The preliminary spec and feature sheet can be viewed in our photo gallery section below.
