Hero shows their all-new machine Leap, India's first-ever production hybrid scooter. While the convenience of riding a small-sized two-wheeler in the cluttered urban traffic no longer needs praise, being able to ride at an almost negligible penny-per-mile cost is even nicer.
The Hero leap is powered by an 8kW (10.7 hp) electric motor, and the performance anf range can be upgraded using the 124cc petrol engine. Hero has not released precise range figures, but claims that running the petrol-based "range extender" will add triple the distance one can ride.
Likewise, using the petrol engine gives the Leap a top speed of 100 km/h (62 mph). The front 240mm rotor is squeezed by a 2-pot Brembo caliper, and is complemented by the 130mm rear drum.
