After Chevy's first entry in the small cargo van made its public debut earlier this year, the golden bowtie carmaker announces that the 2015 Chevrolet City Express will offer an EPA-estimated 24 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, 25 mpg combined fuel economy.
Essentially a Nissan NV200 with a different face and Chevrolet badges, the City Express returns the previously mentioned figures from a 2-liter dual-overhead cam four-cylinder mill, which is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) borrowed from the Japanese manufacturer's parts bin.

“The 2015 Chevrolet City Express is designed for our customers who are looking for a small, easy-to-maneuver, fuel-efficient, cargo-carrying vehicle,” declared Ed Peper, US vice president of GM Fleet & Commercial. “The fuel economy of the City Express will help stretch their dollar at the pump and give them the flexibility to invest the savings back into their business.”

In the United States, the all-new City Express with its 131 ponies and 139 lb-ft (188 Nm) can be had for as low as $22,950 including the $995 destination charge, but excluding tax, title, license and dealership fees. The cargo van can store up to 122.7 cubic feet (3,474 liters) of bits and bobs. Even the basic LS model is offered with dual rear sliding doors, 40/60 split rear cargo doors that open to 90 and 180 degrees, six floor-mounted D-rings, vinyl flooring, as well as power windows.

The 2015 Chevrolet City Express is slated to arrive in dealerships nationwide in the fourth quarter of the year. Every model comes as standard with a 2-year/24,000-mile standard maintenance service, designed to help businesses from florist to food delivery keep their workhorses in shape and on the job.
