Just yesterday, we showed you some pretty exciting first spy photos of the new Audi S6 facelift, coming within the next year. It was seen going in and out of the garage which the automaker owns near the Nurburgring. Want to guess where it went?
That's right, the first thing the S6 wanted to do was to take on the famed race track, where all the cool boys like to play. Wearing full fire-resistant overalls and a crash helmet, the in-hose test drive is taking one of the most dangerous tracks in world quite seriously, despite being able to rely on quattro all-wheel drive.

We've already discussed the cosmetic changes on the car at length yesterday. This being the same prototype, we'll just note that it has been equipped with the next generation of optional LED headlights. Currently, such a system is offered as an €1,800 option on the S6 and features an adaptive feature so as not to dazzle oncoming traffic.

We don't see a lot of other changes on the car, though Audi might also refresh its wheel and paint selection, the latter being especially "dry" for a limousine that also knows of the fun side.

The S6's 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine and its quattro all-wheel drive system are going to remain in place. But just like with the S8 facelift, slightly more power and superior acceleration numbers can be expected. If you ask us though, the current 0 to 100 km/h claim of 4.6 seconds makes the S6 sound potent enough already. The permanent quattro drive guarantees this model can make good use of its grunt, automatically shuffling everything though a center differential to the axle that needs power the most.
