Chrysler Group has finally decided to start delivering the 2014 Jeep Cherokees to its dealerships following a three week delay, Auto Guide reports, adding that the first crossovers are set to arrive in showrooms over the next ten days.
Initially scheduled for September 30, deliveries were delayed to allow the manufacturer to validate the updated powertrain calibration so that the 2014 Cherokee “meets customer expectations for performance, refinement and quality”. Production of the 2014 Cherokee commenced on June 24 with 23,000 units being built to date. Most vehicles have been kept in Northwest Ohio, near the Chrysler’s Toledo plant.
As a reminder, the 2014 Jeep Cherokee has a starting price of $23,990 and can be had with either a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine (184 HP/171 lb-ft) or a 3.2-liter V6 mill (271 HP/239 lb-ft), both mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.
