Dodge has announced the introduction of the 2014 Durango Special Service SUV, a vehicle designed for police, fire agencies and general fleet customers.
The new Durango Special Service comes with standard model’s eight-speed transmission, 7-inch TFT gauge cluster and Uconnect touchscreen, but features a number of additional components, such as heavy-duty brakes, heavy-duty battery, 220-amp alternator, heavy-duty water pump and engine oil cooler, and a load leveling suspension.
“The 2014 Dodge Durango Special Service model is a state-of-the-art resource for fleet customers,” said Peter Grady, vice president of network development and fleet operations. “It’s been specifically designed for the demands and rigors of fleet duty. It joins the Dodge Charger Pursuit sedan and Ram 1500 Special Service truck currently available to government fleet customers.”
Production of the 2014 Durango Special Service will begin toward the end of the year at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit. The vehicles are available to order as we speak.
