Since March 2013, the refreshed version of BMW's E89 Z4 has been available in the US. The guys from autoblog wanted to see whether this car is just one for leisure drives or can be used as a proper sports car too.
The car they took out for a quick spin was a Z4 sDrive35is, the top of the line model, priced at around $80,000 (€62,000), which is quite a lot since the starting price for the US market is $64,800 (€50,223).

As you probably already know, the is at the end of the name of this model states that this car has the 335 HP and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque 6-cylinder engine under the bonnet and comes with the DCT 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. In this configuration the car is really alive.

It goes fast into corners and, due to its VDC suspension, it keeps you in check at all times. The only 2 flaws that you could say affect this car are the run-flat tires and the electric steering. Those two might give you a weird feeling at times, but overall, the car is handling good.

Bottom line, the Z4 is more of a cruiser than a sport roadster, and BMW made it clear. Don't get us wrong, you can still go really fast in this car but it's not the sports car you might expect.
