As AMG continues to campaign all-wheel drive for its performance models, BMW remains the true bastion of power and performance on the purest of levels. 2013 has brought two very strong rivals for the ever-popular M5, both twin-turbocharged and both very powerful.
Mercedes's new E63 AMG is available as the 4MATIC S-Model with a 585 hp and AWD, while Audi's answer comes in the form of the RS6, offered with a 4-liter, 560 hp V8.

Still, the industry always respects the power and performance of the M5, long recognized as the benchmark. While the 2014 model year M5 might not be getting more power, it is going to be bit sexier.

Our spy photographer stationed at the Nurburgring took these photos of the LCI M5 which show it's going to receive much better headlights and a new grille with fewer bars. The reason why parts of the front bumper are camouflaged is because that are is going to be subtly enhanced with softer lines.

Round the back, the sports saloon should boast softer new taillights and maybe extra chrome trim. It's nothing major, but we're more than happy with the look of the car already.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
