The new BMW 4 Series Convertible is here to stay and convince us that the 6 Series is not the only drop-top out there worth our attention.
Built on the same chassis as the F32 Coupe, the ‘Vert is a big heavier and mellow, feeling more at home at cruising speeds rather than on a race track, compared to its brother. That’s how it always was though, so there’s no surprise here.

The 435i has that same 3-liter turbocharged engine that makes 306 HP and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque, plenty for anyone planning to tan whilst driving. Inside you’ll notice that there’s little to no wind noise, depending on the position of you hard-top at the moment.

The interior is almost identical to the one on every other BMW in the current range, with only two differences: the poop-up air deflector and the neck warmers, both meant to make your life easier and they really work.

Sure, the weight is felt wherever you go and at 4,100 lbs it would be pretty hard not to but, it’s not like you’re buying this car for the Sebring circuit, right?

Bottom line, the new 4 Series Convertible is pretty much the same as the Coupe just with an optional roof. It’s a bit less agile too but that’s because it was designed for people that don’t usually go to race tracks but prefer to cruise around town more, an activity this model is perfect for.
