Volkswagen of America has finally put a price on the most efficient model of the 2013 Beetle range, the diesel-powered version that will get you 41 mpg.
The Bug starts at $23,295 for the six-speed manual gearbox version (including destination), while the optional DSG will add another $1,100 to that. This gets you standard powered windows, Bluetooth connectivity, leather steering wheel with audio controls, push button start and keyless entry, plus satellite radio.

The car was originally revealed at the Chicago Motor Show in February and it was originally expected it will do 39 mpg highway. However, VW now says this 140 horsepower 2.0-liter TDI engine will get you 41 mpg, making it a real econobox.
