The Impreza-based Subaru XV has already made its debut in Japan an Europe and is now preparing to arrive in the US, where it will be offered as the 2013 XV Crosstrek.
The vehicle will make its North American debut at the New York International Auto Show. It only comes with one engine, a 2.-liter naturally-aspirated flat four that produces 148 hp and is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox or an optional Lineratronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). In addition to that, customers will be able to choose between two trim levels: Premium and Limited.

Subaru estimates that this will be the most efficient all-wheel drive crossover on the market, anticipating an EPA rating (this hasn't been released so far) of 25 mpg city, 33 mph highway and 28 mpg for the combined driving cycle.
