Volkswagen had a great WRC season this year with the brand new Polo, winning everything from the drivers’ championship to the co-drivers’ and the championship for manufacturers. This makes the Polo even cooler than it actually is, and we have a feeling that several Polo drivers out there would like some 2013 WRC Champion badges and a bit of extra horsepower to their street cars.
But we digress... because we’re here to tell you about an insanely awesome first-generation Golf that showed up at the 2013 SEMA Show this week. Built by Forge Motorsports, this white and blue hatchback can huff and puff the Polo WRC’s house down thanks to its 400 horses and a body kit that makes it perfect for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
All that power comes from a turbocharger 2.0-liter four-potter - which, by the way, can deliver up to 500 HP - that’s connected to a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Unfortunately, we don’t know whether or not this Golf 1 will enter next year’s “Race to the Clouds”, but we’d like to see in action. Anywhere...
