Lincoln significantly refreshed the MKT for the 2013 model year. The crossover was shown last year at the Los Angeles Auto Show with a redesigned front end, refreshed interior and engines that are more powerful and efficient.
The engine lineup for the 2013 MKT is made up of the revised 3.7-liter V6 with 300 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque, available with FWD, or the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that comes with AWD as standard. Now though a new engine is being introduced, smaller an more efficient: the 2.0 EcoBoost.
Lincoln will soon offer a 2.0-liter EcoBoost, in the same state of tune as the Ford Edge and Explorer - 235 horsepower. The engine is only offered in the MKT Town Car, a model built for fleet customers and people that like to be chauffeured around.
The price for the MKT 2.0 EcoBoost will be $49,845, and it’s expected to get 28 mpg highway. If fleet sales prove fruitful, Lincoln might offer this engine to retail customers as well.
