Ford is planning to invest $1 billion in its luxury brand by 2014 in order to give us new wings and this mid-size sedan brings a promising package, but not a flawless one. As you can see, the vehicle’s silhouette is an original one that tries to push the boundaries between conventional sedans and four-door coupes, but we still have elements such as the split-wing grille, which tends to bring the car down.

The details have also been carefully planned, as we are offered goodies such as an LED taillamp that runs the entire width of the car and a panoramic glass roof.

Inside, we get a ton of ICE goodies, such as an 8-inch LCD touch screen, as well as an 10.1-inch LCD display that serves as an instrument cluster, as well as a center console that manages to impress.

“With the Lincoln MKZ Concept, we are not introducing a new car. We are essentially introducing a new brand,” said Derrick Kuzak, Ford Motor Company group vice president for Global Product Development. “The MKZ Concept is the next step in the reinvention of Lincoln, something we’ve been quietly but aggressively pursuing.”

The production version of the Lincoln MKZ Concept is set to reach dealerships by the end of the year.
