2013 Lexus IS 300 Hybrid Review by Auto Express

The quiet revolution is underway in the compact segment, where Lexus has just introduced a brand new IS sedan. There's no denying it's the boldest design in its class, thinking way outside the box the German automakers are stuck in.
A large spindle grille, boomerang LED lights and sharp contours make this car awesome to look at.

The comparison with BMW's 3 Series is going to be inevitable, which is a shame considering the Japanese have stopped copying the Bavarian compact.

Auto Express recently tested the first hybrid IS sold in Britain, the new IS 300h, which uses a 2.5-liter engine and an electric motor to deliver a combined output of 220 bhp. That doesn't sound like much compared to the turbocharged engines BMW offers, but no German car at the moment can do that and produce only 99 grams of CO2 per kilometer at such a low price.

No, it's not a drifting machine, but BMW drivers are no longer hooligans any more, now are they?

We're confident that even though Auto Express didn't give such a positive review, you guys will understand the car it not actually flawed. It will feel sharp and relaxed at the same time, which is the Lexus way.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
