When the first rumors about a possible BMW 2 Series coupe came out, the only logical piece of information at the time was that the car company was finally going to be able to make a small M car, as the name would no longer overlap with the legendary M1.
Somehow along the line, we lost sight of the idea, mainly because of the the M Performance cars. The photo above shows the M Peformance version of the 2 Series at a photo shoot. It looks good, doesn't it? Like a perfect blend of hot and refined. Yet BMW isn't satisfied with just that, and is reportedly preparing an M2 model which will go on sale in 2015.

Just like previous reports indicated, Auto Express has leaned the M2 will be light, making full use of carbon fiber technology. It will also have the mechanical limited slip diff missing from the M135i, as well as a sportier gearbox.

Power should come from a 3-liter engine producing somewhere around 360 PS, enough to catapult the car to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
