Kia has released the first three photos and some official info about the new Sorento, which gets chassis and styling improvements for its mid-life facelift.
The facelifted and upgraded SUV will go on sale later this year, and Kia have changed a great deal. The Sorento gets a revised bodyshell, upgraded chassis, enhanced powertrains, a better ride, better equipment and improved safety features.

Visually, the changes start with LED position lights at the front and taillams at the rear. The 2013 Sorento also has new bumper, a bigger grille, vertical fog lights, plus a set of new 19-inch wheels.

Details of the upgraded powertrains will come later, but we can expect the same market-dependant 2.0 T-GDI and 2.2 CRDI R-Engine as seen on the brand new Santa Fe.

“Since its introduction in 2009, the second-generation Kia Sorento has achieved more than 620,000 sales around the world.  Today, it is manufactured in Korea and the USA, attracting over 130,000 U.S. customers last year to rank as the best-selling Kia model in the States for the second year in a row,” commented Thomas Oh, Kia’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the International Business Division.  “We have given very careful attention to owners’ feedback, and the upgraded Sorento is not just a cosmetic exercise but a major step forward for our popular SUV.”
