2013 Cadillac ATS Starts Its Journey on the Nurburgring

We’ve already seen footage of the ATS sedan doing its best to challenge the times of its German rivals on the Nurburgring test track. But now, Cadillac has started a dedicated series detailing how the new 3-Series rival journeys from prototype to full production vehicle.
What Cadillac is tying to do but isn’t admitting is to create a rival for the BMW 3-Series. To do this, they hope to bring a car to market that offers low weight, a relatively involving drive and all the luxury features you’d want.

The 2013 ATS sedan is expected to reach showrooms by the middle of next year. Both coupe and convertible versions are also going to follow. The engine range should also include a 2.0-liter turbo engine with about 270 hp, but the range-topping ATS-V will pack a mighty 6.2-liter direct-injected V8.
