The 330d Touring is possibly the perfect family car, at least in Europe. The US is still warming up to the whole diesel concept, keeping sales of such engine to a minimum at the moment. As a matter of fact, there’s only one diesel wagon 3er on sale over there right now and it uses only a 2-liter unit.
Hopefully, there’s going to be some changes in the diesel line-up in North America, as the guys from CAR Magazine praised everything about the 330d Touring model they had for a long-term review, over the last 6 months.

From the way that engine and its 560 Nm of torque make you feel when you push the car hard to the amount of luggage it can carry around and the comfort of the seats, everything was praised, even more than we’re used to.

The fuel consumption really helps you save money, on average the car returning somewhere around 33.3 mpg (7 l/100 km) without being spared any trouble or keeping the throttle to a minimum. Even in winter time, when RWD cars are known to act up, the BMW, with winter tires, proved to be more than practical.
