US customers who wanted to buy an Audi A6 fitted with the 2.0-liter turbochaged four didn’t have too many choices until now, as the vehicle came with the not-too-pleasant front-wheel drive and the comfortable, but slow, CVT gearbox.
It seems that Audi has finally realized this and will fix things with the 2013 model, which will also be available with quattro all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic gearbox, alongside the aforementioned standard features.
The Audi A6 2.0 starts at $45,295 and the quattro awd will be offered as a $2,200 option. The carmaker will continue to offer the CVT (Multitronic in Audi language), but we can’t tell you whether you’ll have to pay extra for the eight-speed auto (Tiptronic, to use the Germans’ words again).
