2013 Acura ILX, RDX to Debut at Chicago Auto Show

As it the custom under Honda’s leadership, the Acura luxury division came to Detroit with two the RDX crossover and ILX sedan in near production form, but calling them ‘prototype’ and ‘concept’. Now, the wheels will be swapped for production ones and the bumpers will get the necessary trim, as Acura has announced full production versions will debut at the Chicago Auto Show, which starts early next month.
The 2013 ILX is a sedan with luxury ambitions that’s based on the Honda Civic. Aimed at the Y-gen buyer, priced from under $30,000. Standard features will include eyless entry, Pandora Internet radio and push-button start. The engine lineup will consist of a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, 2.4-liter inline 4-cylinder engine with a six-speed manual transmission, and a 1.5-liter gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain, with the last being Acura’s first hybrid.

As for the RDX crossover, the 2013 model year brings a brand new design that’s more grown-up than the futuristic version on the road. Under the hood, Honda has replaced the four-cylinder turbocharged engine has been replaced not with a smaller unit but with a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 273 horsepower. They’ve done this because the newer engine is more efficient and more powerful, by 33 hp in fact.

The RDX will have a lightened AWD system and a new six-speed automatic that add up to an improved economy of 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
