Acura Says New ILX Makes Luxury Affordable in Detroit Unveiling

The Head of the Acura Design Studio, Jon Ikeda was on hand yesterday at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit to unveil the new 2013 Acura ILX Concept. And yes, it’s not really a concept, rather a pre-production version of their fresh sedan model that’s based on the Honda Civic.
So how will the car that will bring luxury sedans closer to young, Y-gen consumers for under $30,000 look like? Well, pretty much the same, with the exception of the bumper trim that will have to be added. That, and the fact that simpler alloys will have to be used if they are to price it reasonably.

But what constitutes luxury in Acura’s opinion when it comes to the interior. Plenty of features, if the are to really sell it with standard keyless entry, Pandora Internet radio and push-button start. But is that and an engine lineup made up entirely of four-bangers be enough?
