2012 Suzuki Swift Sport On Sale in Australia

It might be a hatch, and it might be hot, but we’d hesitate to call the Suzuki Swift Sport a hothatch. However, it’s still a potent little rocket in its supermini ways and it’s now available in Australia, as a right-hand drive car.

The car is priced from at $23,990 for the manual transmission and $25,990 for the CVT transmission. Power comes from a revised naturally aspirated 1.6-litre engine that offers a power increase over the previous generation from 125 to 135 HP and torque from 148 to 160 Nm (109 to 118 lb-ft). Despite this, Suzuki says the unit is also more frugal, burning 6.5 liter per 100 km.

But because the car is also very light, it can also do the standard sprint in 8.1 seconds in manual guise, which is 0.3 seconds faster than the old generation.

For more details and to configure your own car, check out the dedication section of the Suzuki Australia website.
