Registering a full 10 on the wear-o-scale, smart has fully detailed its new concept for Detroit, a two-seater electric vehicle with a pickup bed that extends outward a bit and can accommodate a couple of bicycles.
"We at smart love pick-ups – if they are small on the outside, large on the inside, very safe and extremely comfortable. With the smart for-us apetrol station is no longer required!"  says smart CEO Dr. Annette Winkler.

Powering this strange-looking smart variant is a electric motor that’s good for 5 HP (55 kW) and 130 Nm of torque. This works in combination with a 17.6 kWh lithium-ion battery, offering a top speed of about 120 km/h.

Designed for people who want a small footprint and minimal environment impact, the for-us only measures 3,547 mm in length, 1,506 mm in width and 1,701 mm in height.  The cargo area is 900 mm long, and it looks like it’s been design to carry bicycles.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
