Hold on to your hat folks, because the car that does it all has been invented! At this year’s edition of the Tokyo Motor Show, Daihatsu will bring a new concept called the D-X. They say that it can easily be transformed from say a sportscar to an off-roader by swopping out the panels.
The ‘cars’ that the D-X can become include a roadster, a shooting brake that reminds us of the smart roadster coupe, an off-roader and even a track machine. What we actually see in the photos is a strange van, a toy car and another toy car playing in the dirt.

What’s more, this is basically a kei car, powered by a 0.66-liter two-cylinder engine that used direct injection and turbocharging and again reminds us of what smart did. Just check out some other Daihatsus in the related section to see why they think this is normal.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
