Spanish carmaker SEAT today released photos of a brand new Toledo sedan, sporting license plate that say Ginebra’12, indicating the car will indeed debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week. Just like the Skoda Rapid sedan last year, this is called a concept, but it’s actually a near production-ready version, that was built by hand using pre-production methods instead of on an assembly line.
The big news with this 4.48 meter sedan is that it’s not actually a sedan. Instead the Spanish carmaker is opting for a hatchback configuration in a larger and elongated form. When it enters production, the new Toledo will have seating for five people and luggage compartment of more than 500 liter without the bench being folded.
“The SEAT Toledo Concept illustrates our idea of the perfect mid-range car. It is an excellent combination of emotional design, top-level usability and dynamic driving characteristics. The subsequent production model, our new Toledo, will write a whole new success story with its clear SEAT identity, its excellent quality standard and exceptional value-for-money. Following the Mii family and the new Ibiza, the new Toledo marks the next wave in our model offensive and growth strategy,” says James Muir, President of SEAT.
autoevolution will be attending the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
