As we were eagerly awaiting for new info on MV Agusta’s latest middleweight sportbike, the Varese manufacturer took us by surprise by announcing not just pricing details on the much appraised model, but also by releasing a very special limited edition to celebrate the market launch.

We are talking about the 2012 MV Agusta F3 motorcycle, which will retail for EUR11,990 (about USD16,990 or GBP10,500 at the current exchange rate) when it will arrive at dealerships later this year.

As said, the Italian brand has also prepared a special F3 variant, dubbed Serie Oro which will be produced in a limited run of 200 units and will cost more than double than the regular base model (EUR24,990/USD35,500/GBP21,900), and will be built only to order.

The jaw-dropping premium model is recognizable by the gold frame plates and single-sided swingarm, as well as the forged aluminum wheels painted the same color. The special paint scheme is a striking reinterpretation of the traditional MV Agusta silver and red livery.

Even the rear view mirrors are painted, and the seat subframe matches the colour of the F3s tubular spaceframe. The air intakes and cooling exits have a gold finish, as does the DID Gold final drive chain. The completely handmade covering of both rider and passenger seats employs real leather and alcantara. Moreover, a gold plate mounted on the upper tripleclamp identifying each individually numbered bike.

The F3s carbon fibre components add a unique richness to the bike. The front and rear mudguards, dashboard cover, airbox side and intake covers, fairing inserts, both upper and lower chain guards, swingarm protector cover, sprocket cover, fairing lower, and stacked exhaust outlets are all manufactured in carbon fiber and covered with a transparent protective finish.

Other special features include a Brembo brake system, fully adjustable Ohlins suspension, TIG-welded spaceframe chassis and seat subframe, while the footrests and their mounting plates are fully adjustable, as are the gearchange and rear brake levers.
