2012 Honda Ridgeline Sport Trim Package Launched

The Pilot family car is not the only Honda model receiving minor revisions for the 2012 model year, as the Ridgeline also receives improvements for style and fuel efficiency, American Honda Motor Co., Inc., announced. The Ridgeline line-up thus receives a new Sport trim package, which brings various styling changes to the family of pickup trucks.

The new Ridgeline Sport model adds the following to Ridgeline RT standard features: exclusive black 18-inch alloy wheels (+1 inch from RT steel wheels), exclusive black honeycomb grille, standard fog lights, black headlight and brake light housings, and black mirrors and door handles.

According to Honda, the 2012 Ridgeline goes on sale November 2011, two months after the Pilot.

The five-passenger Honda Ridgeline half-ton pickup truck is powered by a 3.5-liter SOHC VTEC V-6 engine developing 250 horsepower at 5,700 rpm and 247 lb-ft. of torque at 4,300 rpm. The unit is mated to a 5-speed electronically-controlled automatic transmission and boasts a Variable Torque Management 4-wheel drive system (VTM-4) with Grade Logic Control as standard.

The other equipment grades available include the RT, RTS and RTL. All Ridgelines are equipped with standard anti-lock brakes; VSA; brake assist; advanced multiple-threshold driver's and front passenger's SRS airbags; front side airbags with passenger-side Occupant Position Detection System(OPDS); two-row side-curtain airbags with a rollover sensor; front seat active head restraints; a tire pressure monitoring system and daytime running lights.
