While in the case of the standard US-spec Fiat 500 the carmaker can’t manage to convince enough customers in order to quench the thirst of its production lines, when we talk about the sporty Abarth version, things are the other way around.
It seems that the 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth is already sold out, with company sources telling The Detroit News that Chrysler is no longer taking orders for it and that if you want one you’ll be entered on the 2013 model year waiting list, with your car set to be delivered to you in the fall.

The carmaker was planning to bring around 1,000 units of the 2012 500 Abarth to the world, but these vehicles had already found owners by the end of April, after just one month of market presence. The company increased the production capacity to 3,000 units, which, according to the aforementioned source, is the upper limit for the Fiat plant in Toluca, Mexico.
