If you said yes to the above question, then you, sir (or ma'am), know your classic movies. Either that or classic cars, as this Dodge Challenger R/T is a modern recreation of the original muscle car used in Vanishing Point.
The 1971 movie featured a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T, featuring a 440-ci V8. As for this modern-day recreation, it also comes in the R/T configuration and rocks V8 firepower. The engine is a 345-ci, a 5.7-liter that underwent a few upgrades of its own.

It features a supercharger and additional goodies for a jaw-dropping amount of power. The vehicle boasts 598 horses, not at the crank but at the wheels. The original output was 375 horsepower in cars featuring three pedals and three horses less in automatic models. Delivering it to the rear wheels is a six-speed manual transmission with a custom shifter for added coolness.

What else is there to know about it? It features a white paint finish, just like the original movie car, and rides on similar wheels that came from the aftermarket world. The interior mixes black leather with gray cloth upholstery and looks just as good now as it did when it rolled off the line over a decade ago. The reason is good maintenance, as it was properly taken care of over the years.

Just by looking at the images shared in the gallery above, one might think this 2012 Dodge Challenger hasn't seen much action since it was put together. However, they'd be wrong because it has 75,012 miles (120,720 km) on the odometer. Thus, its owners certainly enjoyed it over the years, and now you can do that too, as it is looking for a new home.

Clicking this link will take you to the ad on Garage Kept Motors, which does not reveal much else about it. Nonetheless, it does disclose the asking price, and to park it in your driveway, you will have to pay $39,900. That is less than a 2023 Challenger R/T, which kicks off at $41,305, excluding destination and markups. The Scat Pack variant has an MSRP of $49,265, and for the most affordable Hellcat, the Jailbreak, you will have to pay a minimum of $74,290.

Now, it may wear the R/T designation, which places it under the Hellcat family, but this Dodge Challenger is more than capable of giving models featuring the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 a run for their money. The reason is the power boost mentioned above. Thus, it is an appealing proposal and could mean the world to fans of the classic movie car. The question is, would you buy it over a new Challenger, or does the latter sound like a more interesting machine?
