There aren’t many good car movies in the world, so each one of the productions that worships the automotive good is valuable not only through the content but also through the rarity of the breed. One of the finest has to be the 70s’ Vanishing Point. After all, who wouldn’t want to drive from Colorado to San Francisco in 15 hours, all with the noble aim of making a car customer happy?
The action is centered on a 1970 Dodge Challenger, a vehicle that is pretty hard to find nowadays. However, according to Hemmings, a Dodge dealer in Wilmington has a special proposal for you: Bob Frederick is presenting the Kowalski Edition (this is the name of the movie’s main character) for the 2011 392 Inaugural Edition Dodge Challenger SRT8.
Frederick managed to convince Chrysler to create this special Challenger, so we’re talking about a proper build here.
“I met with the team and told them what I wanted: 2011 Challenger SRT8 392, six-speed manual, Bright White, stripe delete, Dark Slate SRT seats, WP3 Alcoa SRT aluminum 20-inch wheels, 730 Nav and SRT Option Group II,” Frederick explains. “I reminded them that the paint was already in the plant and that the unique SRT8 parts were already there in white as well, so it seemed logical that it could be done.”
Before you check your account balance, you need to know that Chrysler will only build 10 units of the car and all of them have already been reserved.
